About the Play

On the eve of the apocalypse, in a not-so-distant future, we meet Emerson, the receptionist for a luxury laser lab and spa. She tries to keep up with calls from disgruntled rich clients trying to book last-minute appointments before they meet their makers. When the CEO of the company, Colt, stops by to give a toast to his last loyal employee, the two strangers realize they have much more in common than either could have imagined. Through these revelations, the two must face the costs of success in the face of sacrifices one makes to live authentically. As the final clients arrive for their treatments, tears in the fabric of reality become so large they can no longer be ignored or stitched back together.

This play contains themes of assisted suicide, violence, transphobia, religion, and existentialism.
